In the interest of public safety and to significantly expedite entry into Bryant-Denny Stadium, The University of Alabama is implementing a clear bag policy that will limit the size and types of bags that may be brought in by fans.

NEW Family Friendly Tailgate

A NEW tailgating area combining all of the fun of gameday with an atmosphere conducive for families will be available for 2016.

The new tailgating zone is located at the corner of Hackberry Lane and Campus Drive, approximately two blocks north of the Quad, on Peter Bryce Campus.

Shuttle service will be provided to and from the Quad and Bryant-Denny Stadium from the Campus Drive Deck.

The location will be first-come-first serve and free of charge. Tailgaters will need to bring and set up their own 10x10 tent.

The area will be ALCOHOL-FREE and strictly enforced. There will be food vendors, face painting, free inflatables, and other activities for children.

Traffic

MCFARLAND BLVD. CONSTRUCTION

Due to ongoing construction, expect heavy delays post-game on McFarland Blvd. southbound for the first month on football season.  You should expect lane closures and merging near the I-20/59 on-ramp. Fans are encouraged to use alternative routes to I-20/59.

I-20/59 CONSTRUCTION

In a continuation of last year, I-20/59 will have ongoing construction between exits 79 and 77.  In those areas, you will see reduced speeds as well as a potential for lane shifts.  If looking to bypass the construction, please utilize the Route 216 as described below.

ALDOT will also have ongoing construction on I-20/59 between exits 62 & 68.

THE ALBERTA CITY BRIDGE IS OPEN

Please be advised that the Alberta City Bridge is now back open for traffic! The regular Cottondale route will now be back to normal for 2016. Feel free to continue to use the alternate routes, especially if you are traveling to downtown Tuscaloosa from the Birmingham area.

Uber, JoyRide, & Taxi Cab Policy

Fans are welcome to use Uber, JoyRide, & Taxi Cabs to be dropped off on campus for football games.  However, NO vehicles, including Uber, JoyRide & taxi cabs, will be allowed to access the core campus around Bryant Denny Stadium 3 hours prior to kickoff without proper credentials. Fans may find alternate drop-off points around outer campus.

Tuscaloosa's 311 Call Center Will Open Two Hours Prior to Kickoff

The City of Tuscaloosa's 311 non-emergency call center will open two hours prior to kickoff for all University of Alabama home football games.

Tuscaloosa 311 is a single, 3-digit phone number created for the purpose of keeping the city customer friendly, open and efficient. It can be dialed from anywhere in Tuscaloosa for all non-emergency situations or questions. It is available for all general city information, problems or issues and any city-related questions. The service is expanding its hours to answer questions regarding home games.

Tailgating

EXPOSED ALCOHOL POLICY

In an effort to promote a more family friendly environment, we are asking all fans to store all extra alcohol in coolers or crates inside their tailgating areas.

ELECTRICITY ON THE QUAD

The power for tailgating purposes, i.e. auxiliary power, will be cut off on the Quad 1.5 hours after the game is concluded, regardless of gametime.  However, in the interest of safety, all light poles will continue to be on as well as portable light towersFans are welcome to stay on the Quad; however, the auxiliary power will be shut off after the allotted time. 

GAMEDAY SHUTTLES

All shuttles from the Quad or stadium will run until 1.5 hours after the game, regardless of gametime. Again, fans are welcome to stay on the Quad, or other areas and tailgate; however, shuttles back to the east side of campus will no longer be running after the allotted time.

GAMEDAY INFO RV

The Gameday Info RV will move from the front steps of Reese Phifer Hall.  The new location will be directly across the street on Colonial Drive.  The RV will be parked parallel to the lawn in front of Doster Hall.  If you have any questions about where something is on campus, or what is going on on Gameday, feel free to stop by!

SMOKE FREE CAMPUS

Like many other campuses nationwide, The University of Alabama is now a Smoke Free Campus. The change, effective Jan. 1, 2015, is designed to make the campus a healthier environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Smoking of any lit product (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited on UA grounds, parking structures, athletic facilities and buildings. Whether you are a smoker or a non-smoker, UA knows that the campus community will demonstrate thoughtfulness, consideration and cooperation as we work together to successfully implement this campuswide policy.
